BENNET
KPENTEY, CVA, CPC
Bennet Kpentey is the founder and Chief
Executive of Sync Consult. He has fifteen
years professional experience and has
consulted for clients in the private and
public sectors as well as international and
multilateral agencies including the World
Bank, DFID, UNDP, The Netherlands Embassy
and DANIDA. His expertise covers strategy,
business valuation and economic development
and has managed several consulting
assignments in the development of strategy,
due diligence, business valuation, financial
modelling, project finance and economic
analysis. He is the originator and lead
facilitator of “Business Valuation
Excellence”, “Advanced Business Valuation”
and “Financial Modelling”,
thought-leadership courses for professionals
in investment, banking, accounting, finance
and business valuation in Ghana. He is a
certified training instructor for the CVA
credential training in business valuation by
the international business valuation body,
IACVA. Bennet is currently a Part Time
Lecturer in “Strategic Management” at the
Executive MBA Programme at the University of
Ghana Business School, Legon.
Among his recent professional achievements,
he developed a Market Beta Report for the
Ghana Stock Exchange in 2007. He is the
President of the Ghana Charter of the
International Association of Consultants,
Valuators and Analysts (IACVA) with
oversight responsibilities for Nigeria,
South Africa, Kenya and The Gambia. In
addition to serving on the IACVA World
Council, he is the Representative of IACVA
on the International Valuation Standards
Council (IVSC), the world’s valuation
standards setting organisation and has
provided input into the International
Valuation Standards which will be issued
sometime in 2011. He also serves on the IFRS
Committee (USA) which was set up in 2010 to
make presentations to the International
Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and the
Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB)
on valuation issues arising from the
numerous accounting standard exposure drafts
on the harmonisation of GAAP and IFRS.
He was one of thirteen international
business valuation professionals who
co-authored “Guide to Fair Value under IFRS”
a complete guide for business valuation
under IFRS in May 2010.
Prior to establishing Sync Consult Limited,
he worked with Deloitte Touché Tohmatsu and
PricewaterhouseCoopers in management
positions. At Deloitte & Touché (1995-2000),
as Principal Consultant, he played a key
role in the setting up and development of
the Deloitte & Touché Management Solutions
Practice in Ghana. At PricewaterhouseCoopers
Africa Central (2000-2002), he had
responsibility for corporate finance in
Ghana.
Bennet holds an MA in International
Relations (Economics Major) from the
International University of Japan (1994) and
a BA in Economics and Geography from the
Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and
Technology in Ghana (1992). He is a
Chartered Professional Consultant (CPC) from
the American Consultants League (2000) and a
Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) (2006).
His professional memberships include
Strategic Management Society, IVSC, IACVA
and (National Association of Certified
Valuator Analysts (NACVA), all in the USA.
